Sound and Vision workshop privacy statement

The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (hereinafter: “we”) processes personal data of persons who come to apply for a job with us. We do this to ensure that our application procedures are run rigorously and correctly. In this privacy statement we explain why and how we process the personal data of our applicants.

Who are we?

We are the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. We are a foundation. Our official name is therefore The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision Foundation (Stichting Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid). We are listed in the official register of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. Our number in that register is: 41194855. Our registered office is at Media Parkboulevard 1, 1217 WE, Hilversum.

Your data are handled carefully and sufficiently protected. In doing so, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable regulations.

The text is written in an informal style so that everyone, including young people / minors, can understand its content.

What kind of data do we process?

When you apply to a Sound and Vision workshop, Sound and Vision processes personal data that may be relevant to the application procedure. This concerns in all cases the data as provided by the applicant, email address, name and musical material.

How do we obtain personal data?

We obtain the personal data from the applicant usually via a form of sorts.

Why do we process personal data?

These personal data are only used as part of a responsible, effective and efficient selection process. We collect and use the applicant’s data:

to determine whether the applicant is eligible for the workshop;

for communication purposes with regard to the and selection procedure;

to contact the applicant to inform them of the event;

The legitimate interest to determine which applicant(s) are eligible for the workshop

Your permission for a portfolio.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep the applicants’ data for up to a maximum of four weeks after completion of the selection procedure.

Is your data shared with other parties?

No. Sound and Vision is the only party that will handle the provided data.

Your rights

You have a number of rights. These are:

Right to information and access: you can ask us what data about you we have and use. We would be happy to tell you more about how and why we process these data.

Right to rectification: do you think that the data we have about you are incorrect? Then let us know, and we will amend them.

Right to be forgotten: you can ask us to delete the data about you that we have and use. In most cases we will comply with this request, but we may still have to process the data for other purposes (for example administration).

Right to restriction: if you think that we are processing your data unlawfully or incorrectly, then you can also ask us to stop using your data until we have properly investigated this.

Right to object: you can object to the use or storage of your data. We will then see if we can stop that processing or delete your data. Is it about use for marketing? Then we will halt the processing as soon as possible.

Right to portability: You can ask us to arrange for transfer of the data that we process on your behalf.

In addition, you can also:

Withdraw your permission at any time: for receiving the newsletter, for example.

Submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority: Do you think that we are not acting according to the rules? If so, we would naturally love to hear from you. You can contact us about this via privacy@beeldengeluid.nl. You can also submit a complaint about it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Protecting your data

We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and against any use contrary to the rules. We continuously keep ourselves informed of the current state of the art in terms of technical security of personal data and we will do everything we can to prevent personal data from getting lost or being used unlawfully.
