On January 19th, RE:VIVE with support by Buma Music in Motion, presents its fifth Crossing Over Workshop with musician Jac van Exter. The Crossing Over series features producers and composers from the experimental and electronic music worlds who have “crossed over” into the realm of composing for film, TV and video games. This Workshop is open to any musician interested in learning the ins and outs both professionally and creatively in relation to composing for media.

As guitar player for the acclaimed Amsterdam instrumental collective Jungle by Night, Jac van Exter has familiarized himself with countless musical styles, existing across the jazz, funk, soul, dance and rock worlds. Over the past 12 years in Jungle by Night Exter has released 7 albums, played hundreds of shows across the whole world. Equipped with an intense musical vocabulary and work ethic, in 2021 Exter “crossed over” into the world of composing for media, now with several short films, podcasts and the award winning 2023 film Kiddo. A rising talent in the Dutch media musical landscape, Exter brings fresh, invaluable knowledge of navigating the Dutch film and media world and as a master guitar player, approaches music and composing from a wholly different artistic background.
