_underscore_ is a new intiative between RE:VIVE, EYE Filmmuseum and The Rest is Noise to offer a platform for electronic music producers to explore the world of film scoring. The new collaboration will invite producers to compose and perform new scores for archival films taken from the archives of EYE and The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.
The first edition of _underscore_ which debuted on November 11 at EYE Filmmuseum invited, Know V.A., Nadia Struiwigh, and Lamellen to perform their new pieces.
Het gestolen huurcontract (The Stolen Lease Agreement) (Dick Laan, NL 1924, 29’, b/w, from the Sound and Vision archives)
A dramatized story about a conflict involving the purchase of football grounds by the Royal Haarlem Football Club. Director Dick Laan is best known as the writer of children’s books (one of his series was translated into English as the ‘Fingerling’ series), but he was also a devoted amateur filmmaker.

Documentary footage of the Dutch steelworks Hoogovens, Fokker, sheet metal works and shipbuilding. Vistas of the Netherlands’ glorious industrial past!
